E-Waste: An Environmental Hazard
Abstract
The burning question of present time is waste disposal and that too the hazardous wastes like e- waste, which has been, generated each year from the developed as well as developing countries. The e-waste is the discarded electronic product, which makes up to 5 % of the total solid municipal waste because people are upgrading their mobile phones, computers, televisions, audio equipment and printers more frequently than ever before. Mobile phones and computers are causing the biggest problem because they are replaced most often. The present paper is about the piling of the e waste, which has been exported from the developed countries to the developing countries like ours, and it is affecting the environment through its hazardous chemicals when it is either put into the landfills or recycled under uncontrolled conditions. The paper focuses the problems created by the e waste and gives the e solutions for the disposal of the e-waste to decrease the environmental pollution caused by the hazardous chemicals produced during recycling, and the disposal should be under the limitations of the environmental protection laws of the country.
